2017

  • In 2017, we formed a partnership with Google to deliver coding sessions for young people as part of Africa Code Week. We successfully conducted these training sessions in 2017, 2018, and 2019, reaching and training over 1,000 youth during the event.

2018

  • Modcom founded Ignitech Women (Ignite Technology Among Women) and sponsored 700 young women to receive training in Data Science, focusing on Python and Machine Learning.
  • UpToDate Modcom has been actively organizing a range of initiatives to support the cause and promote affirmative action aimed at empowering women in technology.
  • Following a thorough evaluation process, all our training programs received certification from the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).

2019

  • We partnered with Think Cyber in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel in Nairobi to offer advanced Cybersecurity training for IT professionals. Through this partnership, we successfully trained over 25 corporate entities, including government organizations and NGOs, such as the Kenya Defense Forces, KENGEN, the Kenya National Examinations Council, the Higher Education Loans Board, and the African Population & Health Research Centre, among others.
  • Additionally, we organized academic trips for Modcom students to Safaricom and Airtel, where they received mentorship from the Innovation Department.

2020

  • We partnered with Microsoft to offer fully sponsored Microsoft Azure training to university graduates, enabling them to earn globally recognized certifications.
  • In collaboration with Think Cyber (Israel), we provided 2nd Cohort Advanced Cybersecurity training to corporate organizations such as TSC, Tullow Oil, KASNEB, and Chuka University. This training also attracted participants from Ghana and Tanzania.
  • Additionally, we launched online modules for all our programs to support distance learning students.
  • We also organized mentorship trips for students to IBM.

2021

  • We partnered with Safaricom and the Rotary Club of Muthaiga to provide Data Science using python training for youth as part of the Youth Future Skills Program.

2022

  • We provided in-depth, customized training in Data Science, Python, and Machine Learning to the IT staff of one of Kenya’s leading supermarkets.
  • Additionally, we organized a Cyber Warfare Bootcamp in collaboration with TripleP of Israel, with endorsement from the Embassy of Israel in Nairobi. The training attracted participants from organizations such as the
  • Kenya Airports Authority and various universities, equipping them with essential skills in Cyber Security.

2023

  • Modcom was invited to participate in several ICT contests held across the country, including in Eldoret, Thika, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, and Kajiado.

2024

  • We launched Modcom DigitalAge Hustle, a program designed to equip youth with essential tech skills and connect them to local and global job opportunities.
  • Additionally, we signed an agreement with Propel, a German organization that links jobseekers to global opportunities in regions such as Africa, Canada, Germany, and the USA.
  • We also partnered with Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa(CEMASTEA) to offer coding sessions for young people.
